October Recap & Goals for November!

It always feels like the closer we get to the end of the year, the faster it flies by. I can't believe it's already after the first of November already. I am already so excited for Thanksgiving and Christmas, and I can't wait to start making new traditions with my husband. I didn't always take time to post as much as I wanted to, so today I'm sharing my October Recap and some goals for November!

OCTOBER RECAP:

  • In October, we took family pictures to turn into Christmas cards, which I'm super excited about. This will be our first time sending out Christmas cards as a married couple!
  • We celebrated 9 months of marriage. :)
  • We saw Warren Miller's 65th Anniversary Film and had a fun date night. Plus, we scored three free lift tickets each, so hello more skiing fun!
  • We took several hikes and drove around to see the beautiful colors. We even stumbled upon the Original Pony Express, California, and Mormon trails. :)
  • We went to a Haunted Circus with friends, and it was a lot of fun!
  • I hosted a game night for my girlfriends. Have I mentioned how lucky I am to have met such great girls here? They're the best, seriously.
  • We carved pumpkins. :)
  • Tried to hand out candy to trick-or-treaters, but alas, only a few came. Realities of living in an apartment complex. One day we'll have many more!
  • Cheered on my favorite sports' teams, including the Cardinals, Vikings, Utes, and Seahawks. I also cheered for the Royals to win the World Series! So close, guys, so close. So proud of that team, and heck yes for Missouri pride!
  • Made some yummy pumpkin and other desserts, and of course, made a fun Halloween treat. Simplest dessert ever = Witches' Brooms.
  • Was constantly in awe of how blessed I am over and over. I'm so thankful to God for all the blessings in my life.

If you missed reading the blog last month, here are some of the highlights!

I posted tips for couponing and meal planning, parts 1, 2, & 3.
I shared some yummy recipes (Pumpkin Dip, Pecan Cheesecake Bars, Halloween Treats).
I talked about struggling with chronic pain and how you're NOT alone!
I posted our fall family pictures!
I shared a little of my beautiful, small hometown that I miss!

There's a few other posts scattered in there, too, so check them all out!

NOVEMBER GOALS:

-To post 15 Weeknight Recipes (or at least most of them!) from the Excel Sheet I'm providing on the blog tomorrow - Hopefully this will be a way to simplify meal planning and savings on your groceries, plus provide some different ideas for weeknight meals! There were some technical errors with figuring out how to share it, which has caused the delay (and I'm so sorry!), but tomorrow you should be able to download it for yourself!
-To host Thanksgiving for friends and to enjoy a family Thanksgiving with my small family.
-To make new traditions decorating for the Christmas season with my husband.
-To start scheduling chores and blog posts to simplify life a little.
-To rock my presentation next week for work!
-To finish training and kill it at my first 10K!
-To enjoy a small weekend getaway with my husband and pup to some parks in Southeastern Utah.
-To be thankful every. single. day. This shouldn't just be in November!

Thankful for you, friends, and Happy November!

  4. Congrats on 9 months! We're about to celebrate 4 years, and I can't believe the time has flown so fast! In my experience, it only gets better the longer you're together. I love the idea of a monthly recap and goals. What are you planning for your new Thanksgiving traditions?

    1. Thank you so much! Congratulations on almost 4 years -- that's wonderful! I'm running the Thanksgiving Turkey Trot 10K here with another wife friend, and the husbands are going to cheer us on, and then we are going to host Thanksgiving dinner. I'm also hoping to do a movie day the day before like we almost did in my family with appetizers for dinner. It was so much fun. :) Have any other suggestions? My first one away from all of our family is hard, but I think it will be special just the two of us. Thanks again for stopping by! Checking out your blog now!
