"I Want to be Remembered that Way..."

Lately, I've been thinking about some deep subjects, and it caused me to ponder how people would remember me if I wasn't here tomorrow. If I unexpectedly passed away, what would bring thoughts of me to people's minds? Sometimes, I want too much credit from my husband and loved ones for the things I do. When I have been up since dawn, worked long hours, and then came home and cooked and folded laundry and cleaned and was the one to give my husband a neck massage after a long day, I seek credit. But, that's not the way it's supposed to be. He does nice things for me always, and am I always thankful or deserving? We're supposed to do things for the ones we love without credit. We shouldn't wait for the "thank you's," even if they are nice to hear. We should want to do nice things for the people we love, as well as for everyone.

I want to be remembered as someone that worked hard to achieve my accomplishments.  To be remembered as the girl that loved her husband to the ends of the earth and did everything she could to show him how much, even if it's just a compilation of the little things. The girl that smiled at strangers to brighten their days... as well as her own. The one who loved her family and friends and continuously showed that love and how much they meant to her. And the person who really wants to make a difference, and even if she doesn't succeed, she dies trying to be the better the world will see.

That is my goal and purpose in this life. Things are going to be difficult at times, and there's going to be sadness and frustration. Some days that selfish voice inside my head asking for people to recognize my efforts is going to win. I'm not always going to want to put a smile on my face and be a person who advocates for others and spreads encouragement. But, dang it, I'm going to try to push through those days, and I'm going to do whatever I can to make a difference in this world. I don't know how, yet, but I do know that we are all capable of making an impact.

Love always,
