Starting a blog wasn't my idea. I had a blog a couple of years ago, and I just couldn't keep up with it. Life got in the way, and even though I loved to write, it wasn't fair that I was just writing once in a while and leaving all comments unanswered. I wasn't reaching out and following other people. I've heard a lot of negative comments about blogging ("why does that person think they are so special that they need to share their life with the world?" or "It's conceited to constantly talk about yourself.") To those people, I would say that everyone's story is worth telling, and blogging is an incredible thing. You meet so many people that are very similar to you, and you truly make friends. Plus, it's an incredible way to keep up with people far away and also look back on your memories through the years. I hope I keep up with it for a long time to come. :)
My former coworker was the one who inspired me to start a blog after I wrote a few articles for our company's blog. And then my editor for my potential book (!!!)) thought it would be a good way to connect with people all over the world and share my story, as well as learn from others. I'm thankful to them for the idea, and I'm loving having so many people read and comment, as well as following some incredible and inspirational people.
Today, I'm linking up with two of my favorite blogs for an edition of "Currently" to share what's currently going on in my life! Thanks for hosting the linkup, Dearest Love and Anne in Residence!
SMELLING: Pumpkin everything! I love the fall-scented candles, and baking a pumpkin dessert always makes the house smell good!
LOVING: Having an amazing husband who takes care of me, helps with all the chores around the house, and cooks amazing meals often! I just want to thank him for being such an incredible, supportive man. :) Also, just loving being able to come home to my little family every night, make dinner, and relax on the couch watching Netflix with them. And of course loving the fall weather and being able to wear my favorite sweaters!
PLANNING: Fun date nights after the next couple of weeks of work craziness is over. Prepping and writing a manuscript is exhausting! We're going to need a few nights out!
BAKING: Pumpkin crunch, cheesecake, and hoping to make an apple pie soon!
CELEBRATING: The fact that my husband kicks butt at his work training and is doing well at his new job; soon hopefully being published in a professional journal (again!) and then presenting new research at a conference; and planning our celebrations for our first holidays as a married couple away from family. Sad at times about that, as well, but it will be fun to start our own new traditions!
